Strategy Consulting: I worked at Bain & Company for 8 years as a Strategy Consultant, working in the Bain Singapore, Tokyo, London and New York offices,
I have worked with Fortune 500 CEOs across a wide range of industries from telecommunications to consumer products and retail, market entry strategies in South-East Asia, Tokyo, London and New York. Notable projects include running the Annual Corporate Strategy Workshop for Vodafone in Europe. Customer segmentation for the largest department store in the UK. Turnaround strategy for the largest LBO in Tokyo. $10B private equity media acquisition out of Bain New York with the private equity group
Private Equity, Private Equity Real Estate, Private Wealth: After being sponsored by Bain for my MBA at Wharton, I spent 4+ years in private equity at the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation investing in Scandinavian, German pan-European and Arab funds. Co-investments deals included Valentino/Hugo Boss and Budapest Airport.
I was subsequently headhunted to join Partners Capital – a $13B private wealth firm serving ultra-high net worth individuals of AUM $20M and above, typically sophisticated investors themselves, such as Blackstone and Bain Capital private equity partners. Part of the Partners Capital philosophy was that unlike typical private banks, in order to serve these sophisticated investors, investment principals had to play both the investment as well as the relationship management role. I had to maintain relationships with and manage the portfolios of 40+ clients including the Nobel Foundation, the Royal Academy of Arts as well as Jesus College and Newnham College of the University of Cambridge. All Partners Capital principals manage the entire portfolio across 8 asset classes (from fixed income to equities to hedge funds to private equity to private equity real estate and commodities) as well as rebalancing the portfolio for mean variance optimisation. On top of my client duties, I was also the product head for all our real estate investments, and ran a $800M PERE Delaware and Caymans fund.
Marketing: This year, I got my Inbound certification from Hubsot Academy and am currently learning to be a full stack web developer. I am also fully qualified in managing Google Analytics and Adwards. I have also set up email marketing systems (migrating over 14,000 email subscribers to the MailChimp platform). I have experience managing CRM systems for lead generation, using email marketing for lead nurturing, content marketing, email marketing, marketing automation, conversion rate optimisation as well as social media marketing. Most importantly, my analytical and financial background ensures a relentless focus on marketing ROI.
